Deck & Patio

Decks & Patios

Decks are made out of wood which can create mold, mildew and algae on it. Once that happens it can be dangerous! It can gather mold, mildew and algae and become very slippery and hard to walk on! When it rains water can gather on your deck and sit there and create mold and mildew. Once that happens it can grow into a bigger problem if not cleaned! We can soft wash or pressure wash your deck to remove the mold, mildew and algae so you won't slip and fall! It just depends on how bad your deck is if we use soft or high pressure washing. After we get done with the deck cleaning there will not be any mold, mildew or algae growing on it any longer!

What We Clean

Wood decks. Soft wash or pressure, depending on how far the growth has gone. We decide at the estimate.

Concrete patios and pool decks. We pre-treat the concrete, then clean it with a surface cleaner for one even finish, with no stripes or arcs left behind.

Paver patios. Pavers aren't cleaned like concrete. High pressure blows the joint sand out from between them, which leads to weeds, ants and shifting stones. Paver patios get cleaned, re-sanded and sealed. See our paver sealing page.

Screen enclosures and pool cages. A separate service that pairs well with a patio or pool deck cleaning.

Why Decks and Patios Go Green in Jacksonville

Jacksonville's humidity, regular rain and shade from trees and overhangs keep outdoor surfaces damp for long stretches. Damp wood and concrete are exactly where algae, mold and mildew take hold. Shaded corners, spots under trees and anywhere water sits after a storm usually go green first.

On a deck or patio that growth is slick underfoot, and a hose won't take it off.

Our Process, Step by Step

1. Walk-through

We check the surface, the growth, and anything nearby that needs protecting.

2. Choose the right method

Soft wash for surfaces that can't take pressure, a surface cleaner for hard concrete, and a clean, re-sand and seal for pavers.

3. Treat the growth

We apply a cleaning solution and let it dwell long enough to kill the algae, mold and mildew at the root, instead of just knocking the top layer off.

4. Clean and rinse

Then we clean the surface and rinse everything down, including any landscaping nearby.

We use your outdoor spigot for water, so there's nothing to arrange ahead of time.

Deck and Patio Cleaning FAQ

How often should a deck or patio be cleaned?

Once a year works for most Jacksonville homes. Shaded decks, patios under trees and anything near water may need it sooner.

Is it safe for my plants and pets?

We rinse landscaping before and after, so nothing sits on the leaves. We'd ask you to keep pets inside while we work and until everything has been rinsed down.

How long does it take?

It depends on the size of the deck or patio and how much growth we're dealing with. We'll give you a time frame at the estimate.

Do you soft wash or pressure wash?

Whichever the surface calls for. Soft washing uses almost no pressure and lets the cleaning solution do the work. Pressure with a surface cleaner is right for concrete. Pavers get cleaned, re-sanded and sealed.
